“A Criminologist’s Experience in 2025”
Hello guys, how are you? Today, I want to share some general information based on my observations. I am a criminologist, and my experience is in self-defense.
If we look closely, everything a person does in this world is performed by the human body. But if a person does not protect their own body, then nothing truly happens. Everything that humans achieve—like inventions, new technologies, and many other things—is done by humans themselves.
However, I have seen many people who work day and night but do not take proper care of their bodies, which is extremely important. Working day and night is not a bad thing, but if you neglect taking care of yourself, then all that work is essentially wasted.
Everyone thinks, but most of the time my observation is that people do everything except take care of themselves. If we look at different countries, many young lives are destroyed due to hard labor, yet they still do not get proper rest. Why is that?
In my opinion, the main reason is that the more they work, the less they are paid. Low wages combined with high expenses make life extremely difficult. This does not happen in every country, but it does exist in some, and it is largely due to the system.
People often talk about this issue, but the authorities rarely listen, and powerful people do not speak about it because they are benefiting from the existing system.
In today’s era, most young people observe this system and feel disappointed because they see both those who work hard every day and others outside, and they wonder what their own future will be. In this pressure, they often feel stuck and hopeless.
We need to stand against such systems wherever they exist so that true equality can emerge, because otherwise, we remain trapped in frustration and despair.
Now I want to share a story with you. During our research, when we completed the entire process, we discovered that even educated people commit crimes. Our research topic was street crime, and when we looked for the reasons behind it, we found that unemployment was one of the main causes. Poverty pushes many people— even educated ones— into street crime.
But think about it: when educated people also get involved in crime, who will correct them? They already know what is right and wrong. This is why I believe the real solution is to fix the system itself, so that such crimes do not happen in the first place.
I understand that crime can never fully disappear as long as humans exist, but we can definitely reduce it. There are many examples of this throughout history.
I completed my degree, but I did not take a job. Why?
The main reason is that I thought if I took a regular job, I would only cover a specific area, and I would not feel truly satisfied. That’s why I turned my attention to the online world and decided to start my journey there.
Whether people like my approach or not, I would feel fulfilled. For this reason, I created a website and began working independently. I know I don’t have extensive experience, but whatever knowledge I have, I am determined to share it so that it can benefit others.
My goal is self-protection, and by that, I mean the protection of every human being. How can we achieve this? The solution is that wherever there is oppression or injustice, everyone must stand together. This way, the difference between right and wrong becomes clear.
We all must act with fairness and justice.
I emphasize this point because when a person stops caring about themselves and becomes lost in other things, their mind no longer stays balanced. They begin to suffer from mental disorders, and once someone falls into this condition, their life moves in a completely different direction — one that is very difficult to come out of.
If we look at today’s era, many young people are struggling with psychological issues. This is why focusing on yourself is extremely important.
Even today, there are people who truly love themselves and take proper care of their well-being — but they are very few. The best example to understand this is like syrup and sugar: the syrup represents the majority who do not protect themselves properly, and the sugar represents the small minority who know how to take care of themselves.
Now you probably understand that having a job is a good thing, but my way of thinking is a little different — as I have explained to you. Therefore, self-protection should always come first, and everything else should come afterward.
“How to Protect Yourself?”
I have already explained a little about self-protection above, but now I want to share a few more points that I believe are extremely important. But keep one thing in mind — I am not a great scientist or philosopher. I am only sharing the lessons I have learned through my own experience.
- In self-protection, the most important thing is giving yourself time. In today’s fast-paced world, people do not give themselves any time, and because of this, they completely ignore their own well-being.My belief is simple: give time to yourself.
- By giving yourself time, I do not mean that you should think about yourself all the time. Instead, give yourself a specific time. What works best for me is asking myself one simple question before sleeping:“What did I do today?”How much did I take care of myself, and how much did I take care of others?
- One important part of self-protection is knowing your physical and mental limits. When you push yourself beyond your capacity every single day, your body and mind both become weak. Protecting yourself also means respecting your limits.
- You don’t have to say “yes” to everyone. Sometimes protecting yourself means saying “no.” Whether it’s work, people, or responsibilities — only take what you can handle with peace.
- A confused or stressed mind becomes the biggest danger to a person. Self-protection requires a clear mind, and for that you need proper sleep, proper food, and moments of silence in your day.
- Being alert is also a form of protection. Whether outside, at work, or online — awareness keeps you safe from many problems before they even happen.
- A person who believes in themselves naturally becomes stronger. Confidence doesn’t mean arrogance — it means trusting your decisions, actions, and instincts.
- Self-protection also comes from knowledge. Whether it’s learning basic self-defense, understanding human behavior, or improving your skills — learning makes you more secure
“Why Self-Protection Is Important”
If we think carefully, self-protection is extremely important because first and foremost, it is about protecting oneself, and only then can we focus on others and other things. We have observed that many people do take care of themselves, but on the other hand, some people completely neglect their own well-being.
“Self-protection is not selfish. It is smart. When you are safe and strong, you can face problems without fear.”
Your Health Comes First
If you ignore your own health, nothing else matters. A strong body and mind help you face challenges better.
Mental Clarity
Stress and confusion make decisions harder. Protecting yourself includes keeping your mind clear and balanced.
Awareness of Surroundings
Being alert around people, at work, or online helps prevent many problems before they happen.
Confidence Boost
When you protect yourself and know your limits, you naturally feel more confident in your actions.
Setting Boundaries
Learning to say “no” when necessary protects your energy and well-being.
Continuous Learning
Knowledge is a form of protection. Whether learning self-defense, life skills, or new knowledge, it strengthens you.
Self-protection is the first step toward a safe and balanced life. It is not selfish — it is necessary. When you take care of yourself, both physically and mentally, you can face challenges with confidence and clarity. Protecting yourself includes giving time to your body and mind, staying aware of your surroundings, setting boundaries, and continuously learning.
Neglecting self-care leads to stress, confusion, and even mental health issues. By focusing on yourself first, you can create a stronger foundation to help others and live a more fulfilling life.
Remember: Your safety and well-being always come first, and everything else follows.
Conclusion
Self-protection is the foundation of a balanced and fulfilling life. It is not selfish — it is essential. By taking care of your physical and mental health, setting boundaries, staying aware, and continuously learning, you create a strong base to face challenges confidently.
Neglecting yourself leads to stress, confusion, and even mental health issues. When you prioritize your well-being first, you not only protect yourself but also become better equipped to help others and make meaningful contributions to society.
Remember: Your safety, health, and peace of mind always come first — everything else follows naturally.
In today’s world, protecting yourself is not only important — it’s necessary. Modern life brings new challenges, and thankfully, self‑defense tools are now easily available in the market.
